    Phase 1

Members will have the opportunity to engage in the following ways:

    • Sending in comments - we will read everything and provide answers - we will also publish a summary, so that everyone can benefit
    • Attending a live online Q&A with Prof Mark Strachan (the College's Secretary), Prof Angela Thomas (the Heritage Trustee and Honorary Librarian) and Lucy Devine (the College's governance adviser). There will be four of these sessions: 1pm March 5th, 5pm March 5th, 1pm March 26th and 5pm March 26th. Please click here if you are interested.
    • Attending a focus group - we will hold separate sessions for different cohorts/groups within the College. Please click here if you are interested - we will send dates and invitations when we have an idea of the number of people who would like to take part.
    • If this would be useful, having an an individual phone call, online meeting or real-life meeting. (obviously, with over fourteen thousand Fellows and Members, this will only be possible for a few people).
    • Taking part in real-life discussion sessions, probably in Edinburgh - for example, the President will hold a Q&A with Senior Fellows on March 25th at the College.

    Phase 2

This Phase will be looking at the fine detail, which we anticipate will be much drier than the headline changes.

Focus groups and online Q&A are probably less suitable here.

We think that the best ways to engage with Fellows and Members over these points of detail will be responding to written comments, and one-to-one phone calls/online meetings.

    Phases 3 and 4

We will be able to answer your questions during this period, but we will only be able to suggest very minor tweaks to the Privy Council once we have submitted the main drafts at the end of Phase 2.

If we want to suggest any major changes, we will have to start the Privy Council approval process from the beginning again, and they quote a waiting time of 12 weeks for giving their opinion.
